Ruth Shively works largely with the figure, yet as of late, she has been exploring more abstract methods of representation. She grew up in the midwest but longed to see the bigger world.  She has lived in Paris, New York, Minneapolis and currently Portland, Oregon. She Iooks forward to finding the next place in this world to live and explore.
